The winner

Courageous was the first twelve-boat built from aluminum, which was lighter and stiffer than wood. It was helmed by Ted Hood, the famous sailmaker. It beat Southern Cross 4 to 0. Race 1 started closely, but Hood quickly took the lead. In the remaining races, Courageous's superiority only increased.

the looser

Ben Lexcen says he gained valuable experience during this challenge for the future.
