The winner

1958 saw the first appearance of the 12m JI. The deed of gift was amended to reduce the minimum boat size and remove the requirement for the challenger to sail to the venue. Olin Stephens entered the fray. Columbia was selected. This was the first time coffee grinders were used. The tacking duels continued in each round, and Columbia left no chance for its opponent, rounding every mark a few minutes behind.

the looser

On the British side, this is the first time that models have been used in the hull basin to select the best plan. Sceptre is original but doesn't prove as effective as expected. The score of 4-0 is relentless.
