The winner
Held up by the war, the boats that were ready to compete resumed their training in 1920.
During the first race, Resolute had to retire because he broke his mainsail halyards.
He won, but his opponent was formidable, and he only won three races to two.
The looser
Shamrock won the first three rounds in real time but lost the third on corrected time.
He also lost the fourth round, a nine-minute round, after losing his arrow in a breeze.
In the final round, Shamrock was already several minutes behind at the first mark. Resolute retained the cup.
